The Town of Truro is currently accepting applications for the position of full time Public Safety Telecommunicator due to an anticipated retirement in early 2020. The application period will remain open until the position is filled.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for fire, police and emergency medical services, dispatching public safety personnel, providing emergency medical dispatch and pre-arrival instructions, and other related duties. A full time Public Safety telecommunicator must possess good computer and typing skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Certifications in Next Generation 911, CJIS operation, APCO Basic Telecommunicator, EMD-APCO, CPR/First Responder are recommended but will train. The salary range for this position is $24.69-$28-54 hourly depending on qualifications and includes an excellent benefits package.
